Orange

Orange UK is one of the main operators on the British Isles. It was initially a company established by a British company under the name Microtel Communications Ltd in 1990. Four years later the brand Orange was created in British mobile phone market. However, in 2000 this operator was bought by France Telecom. The brand was so popular that a few years later the whole France Telecom operation was re-branded as ‘Orange’ and now sells its service under that brand everywhere in the world.
In 2010 Orange UK and T-Mobile merged their British operations and thus created a new operator known as Everything Everywhere (EE). Thanks to that customers can enjoy cumulated mobile coverage of both networks. In the future T-Mobile shops will be re-branded as EE stores but Orange brand will continue to operate as a separate entity too.
Orange UK currently offers two mobile phone packages; pay as you go and pay monthly service plans. Names of animals are used for Orange plans and right now PAYG plans include five plans: Monkey, Dolphin, Canary, Racoon and Camel.
