Lebara Mobile is a MVNO that operates in 8 European countries including the UK and targets international communities and migrant workers. This provider was founded in 2001 and at the beginning it sold international call cards. Its name was created from the first two letters of the founders names: Leon Rasiah, BaskaranKandiah and RatheesanYoganthan.
Lebara Mobile entered the mobile phone business in the Netherlands in 2004. Three years later it entered Australian and British markets piggybacking on Vodafone’s network. Currently Lebara operates in 8 European countries: Australia, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK.
Apart from mobile service since 2011 Lebara also provides money transfers abroad under its Lebara Money product.
Lebara solely deals in pay as you go SIM cards.
